This role has the responsibility of providing all levels of support for aspects of the I.T infrastructure

• Responsible for the operating, support and upgrade of application servers/software and user environment (7 Sites, 150 servers, 1000+ Endpoints, 3000+ users,100+ key applications,)

• Design and implementation of MOE/SOE.

• Provide expertise and support within projects.

• Liaising with the business both for operational and strategic purposes.

• Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards.

• Mentor and provide support to current team members as well as members of the Service Desk.

• Provide ad-hoc user training/documentation and presentations.

• Be committed to development of self and others.

• Implemented key change and processes in service desk to better improve information capture and call resolution.

• Manage vendor and support relationships.

• Manage application/service migration, upgrade and proof of concepts.

• Migration of physical server to virtual servers. (P2V)

• Management of mobility devices (Apple iPhone, iPad. Blackberry and Android)

• Provide Executive support, Out of Hours maintenance and On Call support

• Microsoft Windows Workstation and Server (2000, XP, 7, 2003, 2008, 2012) – Installation and upgrade management, File and print server management and migrations.

• Microsoft Exchange 2003 and 2007 – Managing mail flow and user/shared mailboxes.

• Cable patching and configuration.

Client Services Deployment and Support / Client Production Environment Management

• Ensure problems are solved and requests are actioned within agreed SLAs

• PC Operating System installation and configuration

• Software installation via Systems Management Server (SMS) and manual installation as per tested documentation: Software testing

• Hardware Deployment / Rollouts and support

• Hardware and Software rollouts – 10-20 PC/Laptops per week

• Scoping needs of users - upgrades, new equipment, software requirements

• Troubleshooting application issues

• ADSL configuration and support

• Mobile PDA device Configuration and Deployment

• Maintenance / Creation of User Accounts via Active Directory

• Printer scopes and printer installations

• Liaising with managers, team members, other departments, and teams, to determine appropriate solutions and resolutions to problems and requests.

• Roaming engineer at alternate company sites: deployment/support

• Data point identification / patching in patch room and switch, connectivity testing.

• Power point identification / testing

• Design and Documentation of database related to all data points and power issues for all 4 levels

• Script design / testing / implementation on installed PCs

• Desktop support in regards to: Printer issues, Monitor issues, phone issues, and other general technical issues.
