The Myrtle Beach economy has flourished under the stewardship of Brad Dean, currently the CEO and President of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2008, Myrtle Beach was home to presidential debates from both parties, largely as a result of Brad Deans efforts; he has also worked to secure unprecedented funding for the I-73 project and increased membership in the chamber to 2,700. Over the last six years, Brad Dean has earned a reputation for working long hours and taking each of the chambers goals to the next level. Brad Dean has also evidenced his intellect and dedication throughout his career. Before he was CEO and President of the chamber, Brad Dean was its Chief Financial Officer, a role he took on after spending three years as one of the youngest-ever general managers of a Hard Rock Cafe. Brad Dean also possesses experience as a Financial Analyst with a Hard Rock Cafe in Miami and with branches of General Electric's manufacturing division in Connecticut and Puerto Rico. The first in his family to attend college, Brad Dean graduated with highest honors and a degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. Brad Dean now resides in Murrells Inlet with his wife, Myriam, and his two children, Bryan and Gina. Alongside his work with the Chamber of Commerce, Brad Dean prioritizes improving others' quality of life through volunteer work with Coastal Carolina University, Junior Achievement, the American Red Cross, and other groups. In his spare time, Brad Dean enjoys reading, particularly the Bible and history and business books.
