Managed and supervised a diverse group that included document production, graphic design, reprographics, photo/video production, and mail operations.  Efficiently managed a $3.5 million subcontract for production and convenience copiers that served the company and the Department of Energy client.  Oversaw the company's compliance with the government electronic accessibility law.  Active contributor to the successful development, production, and distribution of the project's license application to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. 

Selected achievements

  • Commended by the Department of Energy client for the successful completion and delivery of the project's license application.
  • Completely rewrote the Yucca Mountain Style Manual, which provided editorial guidance to the entire project, including the client.
  • Solidified the process to ensure the project's documents were compliant with the electronic accessibility law, which helped to ensure acceptance of the license application by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
  • Organized and supervised a multi-disciplinary team for the Regulatory Integration Team, a high-profile project that successfully revised more than 85 critical technical reports in six months.
  • As a Diversity Council member, worked to create a harmonious working environment for all employees.

Managed and coordinated high-level document projects.  Supervised and provided technical direction to technical writers and editors, desktop publishers, reference researchers, review coordinators, and web publishers.  Routinely wrote and edited departmental marketing brochures, articles, white papers, procedures, and technical documents.

Selected Achievements

  • Initiated conversion of documents to HTML for distribution on the Web, increasing efficiency, timeliness, and usability.
  • Developed a visual depiction for scientists and engineers on how to cite source documents in their technical reports, which helped them to achieve accurate traceability.
  • Wrote and designed an instruction manual for custom software developed by the planning and control system department.
  • Developed the citation and reference system for technical reports that is still used on the project today.
