Ben's Tips: Ask a friend for feedback

Ben Temple | December 14, 2016

So you’ve written your resume. You’re pretty sure it looks good, but wouldn’t it be great to get a second pair of eyes on it before you use it in an application?

We think so too. After spending so much time writing your resume, it is all too easy to overlook simple improvements - even simple things, like errors in spelling and grammar. An outside assessment and critique will give you better insights into whether or not your resume grabs attention, is easy to read and presents the right information, is too long or too short, and uses an appropriate template. For these reasons, we have included a feedback feature in the VisualCV editor.

Once you have written your CV or resume, click the feedback button at the top of the editor. This will open a simple mailer that allows you to send your resume to a friend without even leaving the page. There is no downloading, no exporting, no stress - just feedback.

Inside the mailer, you can add your friend’s email address and edit the content of the email to include anything you like. Hit ‘Submit’ to send the email.

Try it now!
