Summary

Bob Linscheid is the President & CEO of the Linscheid Company with offices in the San Francisco Bay Area. Originally formed in 1993, our principal operations involve comprehensive public relations and management services for a number of economic development organizations, trade associations, small businesses, and professional sports teams located in California.

Bob Linscheid is the past President & CEO of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce the largest and most inclusive business membership organization in San Francisco. Acting on its mission to attract, develop, and retain business in the city, the Chamber serves more than 2,500 member businesses and 250,000 employees through advocacy, business and economic development, and its foundation partners the San Francisco Center for Economic Development (SFCED), Leadership San Francisco (LSF),  Chambers for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE), and UNITE SF the City's comprehensive educational initiative.

Bob is the past Chairman of the Board of the California State University Board of Trustees. He served on the Board from 2005 to 2014. During his term on the Board he chaired Campus Planning Buildings and Grounds, Government Relations, and served on Educational Policy, Finance, Institutional Advancement and Collective Bargaining Committees.

He received his BA and Masters degrees in Public Administration from Chico State and served a term as Associated Student Body President. Bob has received numerous service awards including the College of Business Person of the Year, Executive of the Year for the Western Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, Humanitarian of the Year for Rotary District 5160 in 2003, and is a four-time Paul Harris Fellow Recipient in Rotary International. He is also a founder of Leadership Chico and served as President of Chico Rotary. He is currently a member of the Rotary Club of San Francisco #2. Bob has also been on three Rotaplast missions to South America (Venezuela, Chile, and Columbia). Linscheid is also a graduate of Leadership San Francisco in 2015.

For over twenty-five years Bob Linscheid was involved in the marketing and business attraction of companies to the North State region; for over 5 years he was specifically focused on innovation creating a local tech council comprised of many of the region’s leading CEOs and entrepreneurs.

In 2001, Linscheid led a collaborative marketing effort in which voters in the Butte-Glenn Community College District approved Measure A, an $84.9 million dollar general obligation bond to construct, repair, and equip classrooms, libraries, science/computer labs, and facilities; upgrade energy conservation, lighting, electrical, ventilation, and plumbing systems for the district.

In 2008, Bob was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Chico State.

    Provide leadership on the creation and implementation of a coordinated economic development strategy and integrate the Cal Poly Vision 2022 into the plan.
  • Represent Cal Poly’s interest in collaboration with partner organizations including the economic development organizations and local governments.
  • Work closely with campus leadership on the implementation of the 2017 Master Plan revision.
  • Provide leadership with Cal Poly programs to integrate the Tech Park initiatives into a business attraction strategy based on information provided by studies funded by EDA.
  • Make initial contact and arrange for in-person discussions with CP prospects; post-discussion confirm prospective client, client decision-maker(s), and partners organizations
  • Develop buying vision with prospective client, client decision-maker(s);
  • Work with CP team to develop the creation of compelling sales documents and presentations to enable large-scale, high-profile business development activities enabling a self-service environment; and
  • Offer direction on best practices to CP team with emphasis on sales and positioning strategies that provide a competitive advantage for CP.
  • Support the management of and participate in: creation and refinement of business development materials, proposal development (strategic reviews and commentary in writing), oral presentations, and contract negotiations associated with all phases of business pursuits;
  • Lead efforts to collaborate with the Advancement initiatives at CP to create a talent mobilization effort to recruit companies interested in developing internships with students year-round.
  • Work to develop cluster strategies for tech, advanced manufacturing and agriculture. Along with strategy program, develop creative enterprises in agriculture and other industries where local products can be marketed locally and on-line.

The President & CEO  demonstrated openness to ideas from a variety of sources and focus on achieving “best in class” outcomes.
