I have developed several forms using Microsoft Office applications and Acrobat Professional for my department to increase effeciences in our processes. These forms have been so effective we have changed our procedures completely to incorporate their use permanently.
My most noteable achievements in this role have been the development of a time sheet using Excel and an extremely efficient process to complete payroll certification. The Excel timesheet has been adapted by OSU's IT dept and is now online and used by the entire university. Additionally, I served on the committee which rolled out the first pilot groups of the new eTimesheet and have also developed online training materials for the eLeave system. I am currently on the Performance Management Advisory Committee and we are finalizing the online tool that will unify performance management across Enrollment Services. I have also developed online training materials for the new Performance Management Tool using Camtasia Studio 7.
My current position as a Human Resources Associate entails supporting around 500 staff and students in all HR related functions but my experience and skills have grown far beyond what is contained within my job description.My coworkers know that I am extremely proficient with all types of technology and software which is why they introduce me as the ‘HR guy’ and ‘the local IT guy’.Our IT department is located on the other end of our floor so I take this as a considerable compliment.I work closely with our IT department on implementing nearly all of the new tools to be used throughout Enrollment Services, often as a ‘tester’, due to my ability to identify bugs and suggest high quality improvements.I have also aided OCIO in the same fashion during the development of the eLeave and eTimesheet systems and helped roll out the new systems to the some of the first staff and students in the University.I have also worked closely with the branch campuses helping them adapt their policies to the new systems.
I created and continue to update our department’s HR SharePoint website which can be viewed within the department’s network.Through the website creation process, I have become a SharePoint expert and IT often directs SharePoint/website development questions from other departments to me.
Enrollment Services has also started using a new performance management system for which I served on the initial development committee and created online training materials which are now being used to train staff and their managers.I created these training materials using Camtasia Studio 7 which can be viewed here: http://www.visualcv.com/users/166841/cvs/199162/assets/473507.I also created a tutorial in the same fashion for the eLeave system which may soon be used by the OCIO for all university faculty and staff.
Additionally, I am very adept at using Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, and Visio in Office 2007 and all previous versions.
