MobiTV is a global leader in white label OTT video delivery in and outside the home. Customers include Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, SoftBank, DT and Reliance (RIL). As COO, I have the privilege to lead Engineering, Operations, Product and Program Management. Together we have built a truly best-in-class multi-tenant, end-to-end OTT Platform, with cutting edge media distribution technology. Our client software runs on Android and iOS mobiles and tablets, PC/Mac and our own HDMI streaming stick. Responsible for building and executing strategic plans that drive revenue for MobiTV; meeting/exceeding financial and operational objectives that create value for customers and investors and hiring/developing a high-performing team. Everything we have accomplished is built on an unparalleled culture of strategic execution.

 

Selected Achievements

  • Championed the evolution to Scrum/Agile development process; generating a 40% increase in per-squad throughput within first quarter following transition (2Q13); materially reducing time-to-market for customer features
  • Reduced Engineering expense by 45% Q/Q from 2012-13
  • Created a DevOps team/culture to drive towards Continuous Delivery; reducing time-to-market for new customer integrations from 16 weeks to 8-12 weeks.

Led an organization of over 100 responsible for the deployment, operation, monitoring and testing of both an end-to-end managed service platform as well as in-network deployments at DT and Reliance (RIL); managed network operations, systems engineering and systems integration, tier 2 and 3 support, QA, customer care, information technology and security.  Turned around technical operations - from worst to first among internal business units - and established/restored customer confidence in system availability.

 

Selected Achievements

  • Increased overall system availability 10X to 99.99%; instrumental in winning the NFL Mobile business with Verizon
  • Implemented first-ever big data at MobiTV (Hadoop), which reduced our delivery time for live event customer reporting from 10 hours to 10 minutes
  • Successfully migrated datacenters, saving over $500K annually

  • Delivered three complex infrastructure vendor replacement programs with capacity of 90K+ transactions per second; increased teams by 100+ people and boosted annual budgets by $50M+ in 2008 and again in 2009
  • Consolidated legacy iDEN and CDMA wireless web gateways, providing a single platform for both iDEN and CDMA subscribers and delivering multimillion dollar savings.
  • Partnered with key vendors to deliver innovation; introduced the first ever streaming media over mobile phone and first ever SIP over CDMA in North America
  • Provided consulting services to vendors, CDMA alliance partners and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
