An experienced senior-level executive, Bill Connolly currently acts as Chief Operating Officer for WellMed Medical Management, based in San Antonio. In this capacity, Mr. Connolly is responsible for increasing the number of members and retaining existing ones, branding the firm, and creating and introducing all marketing efforts. Bill Connolly's other duties at WellMed include serving as Senior Claims Executive and as a member of the Executive Management Team. He has earned industry accreditations from the International Claims Association and the Health Insurance Association of America.Bill Connolly began his career shortly after graduating from Loyola University Chicago, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He joined Prudential Insurance Company as a Management Trainee, a role that later led to positions as Assistant Supervisor and Office Supervisor. He parlayed this experience into leadership roles with Principal Financial Group, including several years as Director of Medical Management. Aside from leading the overall strategic direction of his group, he oversaw a $22 million budget and headed areas that handled fraud, customer service, and system design. Bill Connolly also lent his insights to committees on information technology, legal affairs, quality assurance, and product development.In other prior experience, Bill Connolly served for six years with United Health Care/PacifiCare Health Systems. As Vice President II of Operations, he supervised the Southwest Regional Service Center, which employed 1,000 people and processed two million claims each year. He also fulfilled the duties of Vice President of Provider Services and oversaw settlements and project management activities.Beyond his responsibilities at WellMed Medical Management, Bill Connolly holds a seat on the board of San Antonio OASIS, which provides learning and community involvement opportunities for seniors.
