Summary

By the time he was appointed Co-Chief Executive Officer of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide’s North America region in 2005, Bill Gray had already proven his leadership skills as President of Ogilvy and Mather’s New York office. Mr. Gray spent more than 30 years with the company, climbing the ranks from his original title of Assistant Account Executive in 1978. In his first 14 months as Co-CEO, Bill Gray led Ogilvy to record revenues and profits. He won every major industry award he was eligible for, including the Cannes Grand Prix Lion, the Grand Effie, and the Forrester Groundswell award, which he received in both 2006 and 2009. In addition, Bill Gray has also served as a director for the Harleysville Group Inc. and is an Independent Trustee for the Century Capital family of mutual funds. He is owner of the Connecticut-based consulting firm Hulls Highway Inc. Outside of his career as a business executive, Mr. Gray supports a number of nonprofit organizations, addressing issues such as animal conservation and the performing arts. He is also a longtime Trustee for the New York Public Library a former member of the Board of Directors for the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club. Bill Gray has also sat on the Board of Directors for the New York chapter of The American National Red Cross and is Chairman Emeritus. During his tenure as Chairman, Mr. Gray helped lead the chapter to annual revenues of $30 million, with $10 million in revenues coming from private donations. Bill Gray received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University. He completed his MBA at the University of Virginia.
