Since beginning of 2011, Bhavesh Vadhani has served as Director of the Risk Services practice at Watkins Meegan, LLC, in Vienna, Virginia. At the accounting firm, Mr. Vadhani leads several engagements involving IT governance frameworks and assessments of complex IT environments and systems for a number of corporate, government, and not-for-profit clients.
In his current role as a practice lead at Watkins Meegan, he is responsible for developing and enforcing quality standards, developing highly talented and skilled people, and identify opportunities in the market for the practice and the firm to grow, meet, or exceed their goals. In his client-serving roles, Bhavesh Vadhani has advised a major satellite and technology company for the last two years. In this capacity, he has overseen an IT internal controls audit process that involves testing and remediation in compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley 404 guidance. He has also consulted closely with the company’s senior management group, helping to fulfill information assurance requirements for future contracts from federal agencies. Mr. Vadhani also maintains multi-year consulting engagements with an application hosting and services provider, as well as a leading technology reseller. He joined Watkins Meegan as a Senior Manager for Technology Risks in July 2007.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Mumbai in 1998, Bhavesh Vadhani pursued an MBA in Management Information Systems at the University of Baltimore. In 2000, he joined Ernst & Young, LLP, as an intern, achieving senior status within two years. Mr. Vadhani gained particular recognition through early engagements as a security consultant. In this role, he implemented advanced public key infrastructure and identity and access management solutions. As an Ernst & Young, LLP, IT Audit Manager from 2005 to 2007, Bhavesh Vadhani directed a number of engagements in the areas of IT process improvement, SOX 404 advisory, SAS 70 Audits, OMB A-123, and Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA) compliance. Offering high-quality and cost-effective service to clients, as well as strong project management skills, Mr. Vadhani earned a number of awards from Ernst & Young.
Bhavesh Vadhani holds CISA, CGEIT, and CRISC certifications, as well as Public Trust 6c clearance. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the Information Systems Audit and Controls Association (ISACA). He has undertaken public speaking engagements at the request of various professional organizations. Bhavesh Vadhani participates in a number of awareness-raising community events. He has raised funds on behalf of the nonprofit organization Junior Achievement and The Race for Hope-DC, which supports individuals with brain tumors.
