  • Lead analyst: Managed all analyst activities, including online surveys, white papers, product spotlights, case studies, competitive analysis. Took vendor briefings and consulted with vendors on positioning. Held this position all 8 years at ebizQ.
  • Virtual conference chair: Created conference schedule, designed content, recruited speakers, moderated recordings and live Q&A, interviewed panelists, created panel questions, and moderated live discussion.

DeBoever Architectures, Inc.

APIAS (Architecture Planning and Implementation Advisory Services) was a subscription services that was (purchased by Meta Group in November 1996.  I wrote the materials for the service, conducted seminars for subscribers, answered Hot-Line (telephone consulting service) questions, negotiated contracts, and participated on consulting assignments.

Distributed Data Systems

Worked on numerous consulting assignments having primary responsibility for technical architecture, developed distributed client/server design methodology.

  • 1995 Staples, Inc., Framingham, MA

Worked with team to design a data warehouse for corporate systems. Led a JAD session to define the technical architecture for distributed systems.

  • 1995 Charles River Ventures, Boston, MA

Reviewed the technical architecture and performed market analysis of Riverton Software's plans to build a workflow product. The purpose of the review was to provide technical information for potential capital investment by Charles River Ventures.

  • 1994 Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Portsmouth, NH

Worked with business administrators and IS organization to define the policies and procedures, roles and responsibilities, and tools and methods for Data Administration. Evaluated the technical implications of data sharing and systems integration among 150 separate systems. Worked on defining requirements for a repository environment to include design models, information on authoritative systems, and shared information across systems.

  • 1994 The Boston Company, Medfield, MA

Defined the technical architecture for a distributed decision support system, along with the support infrastructure necessary to support procurement, development, and implementation. Determined all network requirements.

  • 1993 Fidelity Investments, Boston, MA

Defined the technical architecture for a decision support system being reengineered from a DB2 mainframe system to a client/server system. Wrote the RFP and evaluated responses, identifying key requirements for vendors. Evaluated the RFP responses and recommended contract winner.

  • 1993 Component Software Corp., Lexington MA

Consulted with the President, marketing consultant, and chief technical architects to do a market analysis of their product.

Consulted to development team re: performance problems of a decision support database.

Led a round table discussion for a mainframe department investigating necessary organizational structure for migrating to client/server

Designed architecture for downsizing a nationwide distributed order entry and fulfillment system that included 3 warehouses and 9 order entry locations.

  • 1990 Intuitive Systems, Lynnfield, MA

Researched and reported on LAN technologies, and PC to mainframe connectivity options.

Prototyped a container tracking systems for a worldwide shipping organization. Used a HyperCard front end to Oracle.
