Recruited in 2009 to serve as executive director of an established nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded two decades prior, focused upon conservation, stewardship and environmental education fore more than 4,000 children annually. The camp and conference facility on 500 acres included extensive facilities and twenty four staff.
Responsibilities included operations, staff leadership, internal and external communication, grant-writing, fundraising, programming oversight, new business development and reporting to a board of directors of eighteen community and company leaders. Annual operating budget: approximately $1 million. Charged primarily with raising money, raising awareness and being a change agent for an organization which had become stagnant.
Focused predominantly on implementing short and long-term strategies, improving staff morale through team-building and development, identifying new funding sources, upgrading external communication and public relations, addressing immediate safety and disaster preparedness concerns, establishing new programs and extensive community partnerships.

Directly responsible for the vast majority of the departments within the chamber, reporting directly to the CEO. Supervised 10 immediate team members with oversight for all 24+ staff.
Key involvement in projects such as major grant writing and donor cultivation, regional job fairs, the development of a regional emerging leaders program and special initiatives such as a unique partnership with Sam's Club to provide relocation and on-boarding assistance to recruit the best and brightest for high level positions in Bentonville. Served as the chamber's key liaison to Sam's Club in the development of collaborative programs to engage clubs nationwide with local chambers of commerce for mutual membership development and retention.
Executive Director, Rogers Convention & Visitors Bureau (2002-2006)
Initially hired within Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce to run the city advertising and promotion commission, collecting 2% revenue from all hotels and motels within city limits and serving as the city's first tourism director. Eventually transitioned into a leadership role with the chamber and hired a replacement CVB director. Managed approximately $1m in taxpayer funds and served as the primary representative for the city of Rogers at trade shows, conventions and recruiting trips throughout the nation. Responsible for national advertising placement, media buys, editorial and marketing materials.
Served as the primary point of contact for establishing corporate partnerships between companies throughout northwest Arkansas and the agency. Cold called, built partnerships, established and maintained guidelines, recruited company staff members to mentor children and handled public speaking engagements on behalf of the agency to cultivate support and share the brand's story. Supported the organization's primary fundraiser with outreach, marketing and public relations initiatives. Handled a casework load including client home visits and matching children from at-risk, predominantly single parent homes with mentors from the business community.
