All of my experience in the field of education has allowed me the opportunity to help educate others and better myself. Learning is a lifelong goal that I strive to apply to every area of my life, so I plan to continually pursue it on a personal level and also contribute to this process in the lives of those around me. In the future I intend to further my studies in literature and culture at a university. Along the way I will continue to commit myself to the education and development of others.

I am interested in all of the arts, especially literature. Russian authors are some of my favorites. I love music and enjoy playing the violin and mandolin on occasion. Photography is another hobby of mine. I also find great satisfaction in reusing anything that I might otherwise throw away either decoratively or for an art project.

Learning about different cultures is also important to me and I especially love trying their foods. Volunteering in culturally diverse settings has been a very fulfilling experience. Along these lines, helping the homeless and those less fortunate is another cause that I believe is extremely important.

I have tutored a wide range of students from K-12 to college students and adults in various subjects. Most of the tutoring I have done has been for English or math. My English tutoring has involved teaching reading, writing and speaking skills. My math tutoring has ranged from teaching basic addition and subtraction to beginning calculus.
I began to play the violin in elementary school and have played on and off since then. I played with my jr high and high school orchestras as well as my community college orchestra. I also played for church on occasion.
B/W Darkroom
While at AVC I learned to process black and white film and make black and white prints. I also learned how to mix the chemistry involved in these processes. I used these skills both in photography classes and while working as the photo lab assistant.
While at UCR I learned to read, write, and speak Russian.
