With prizes totaling $13,000 in cash, the entity invited adolescents to show business plans, sales projections, and marketing strategies to local business owners interested in making investments. The pupils would use the money to kickstart their own businesses. During the event, numerous companies received funding. Dinner Loves Company, an online resource that allows local chefs to share their recipes, garnered $3,000. Another $3,000 prize went to the developers of Infinity, an alcohol- and drug-free dance club for teenagers. More than $2,000 was given to the proprietor of Battlefield Bandana, a lightweight skullcap that supports America's military. Other groups that benefited that day included an environmentally friendly firm that makes stuffed animals with recycled material and the creator of an app that alerts people about stores offering deals within a half-mile radius of their location.
