Ben started working at the NCSP as a research assistant in May 2012. He has held his current position as Project Coordinator since December 2012, where he works part-time in the Training & Projects Section. In his time at the NCSP, Ben has led development of the Emergency Vehicle Defensive Driving suite, which includes a 3-day basic vehicle operators’ course, a trailer-towing course, and a 2-week Emergency Vehicle Operator Instructor School. He has also worked on the IED Dynamics & Recognition course suite and the active shooter response program.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University at Albany. He is currently a full-time student in the Master of Public Administration program at the Rockefeller College Public Affairs & Policy with a concentration in Government Information Strategy and Management. He has completed graduate-level coursework in emergency preparedness, public management, and information technology management. He is expected to graduate in May 2015.
Before joining the NCSP, Ben interned at the SUNY Center for International Development, assisting with research on high level development policy. He also worked as a Researcher for Wikistrat, the world's first crowdsourced geostrategic consultancy. In addition, he serves in the U.S. Army Reserve.
