I am an independent online journalist and freelance writer from Phoenix, Arizona. Throughout my career I have become well versed in print, broadcast, online and multimedia reporting. My work has appeared in several publications, including the Chronicle-Telegram, Arizona Daily Sun and the Maricopa Monitor. 

I have also written extensively online about a wide range of issues from culture and politics to crime. 

More recently, I've dived into the realm of new media. I not only maintain my own blog focused on politics and cultural issues, but pick up freelance assignments for a number of online publications.

Independent New Media Journalist

I'm currently a freelance online journalist well versed in new media. This includes writing, recording and editing podcasts, posting videos and photos and writing about a wide range of topics. I run my own blog and write for online publications such as Standard Madness, where my work is read by thousands and shared by hundreds. Not only am I experienced in Wordpress and Blogger, but I use social media, online sharing tools and communities to expand readership and connect with potential readers.  



The Chronicle-Telegram is a daily newspaper in Elyria, Ohio. I traveled to this newspaper from Flagstaff to work as a paid summer intern. I trained as a general assignment reporter and ended left with a number of front-page stories under my belt. 


Arizona Daily Sun

The Arizona Daily Sun is a daily newspaper in Flagstaff, Arizona. I worked as a correspondent and was paid per story to cover the police beat on the weekends and write features for the Sunday edition. 


Maricopa Monitor

The Maricopa Monitor is a weekly community newspaper in Maricopa, Arizona. I worked primarily as an education and police reporter, but took on plenty of general assignment and feature stories.

Metro Source (Westwood One)

Metro Source is a news radio wire service, once owned by Westwood One and now part of Clear Channel. My duties here were writing, editing and producing content for hundreds of radio stations across the country. I also produced audio content and worked as national news producer on the weekends. 

In this role I set the news agenda for a national audience, produced news pieces and covered the Sunday political talk shows as well as breaking news.
