I worked for the New Product Introduction group responsible for new satellite internet systems. I edited bills of materials, created travelers, documents that ensure the correct number of parts is used during production.

I supervised students and ensured safety as the students machined projects for the class. I explained concepts and taught lab skills. I helped students during the computer aided design portion of the class to keep up with the instructor during lecture.

I analyzed the effects of pressure on new types of foam and communications cable, creating results matrices, writing and publishing several company reports, resulting in changed purchase strategies.

Two summers, 2007 & 2008, I helped run experiments for clients of a fluid dynamics consulting firm; tested flow meters and droplet sprayers. I  also cleaned and organized the shop.

2008 -- 1 week Engineering Residence Camp at U. Arizona.

ALSO: Many public service projects with Boy Scouts;  Welding and metals classes; 1 year fencing.

Taking classes in calculus, physics, chemistry and engineering at one of the nation's top-ranked (engineering) state universities. Also participating in the annual Tractor Pull team competition to design and build a high-torque tug-war vehicle.

4yrs FIRST Robotics, Speech & Debate, 3yrs Varsity Track, Thespians and Comedy Sportz (humor-improv club), Many AP classes (a "5" and "800" in World History), 2 full years of calculus. Founder: underwater robotics (ROV) club and "Plutonian Democracy."  Statistics class at Mira Costa Community College.




I studied abroad in Spain during Fall 2012. There, I learned Spanish and the history of Spain.

Miscellaneous shop/lab, computer & other skills

Some knowledge of welding and electronic component integration. Some knowledge of auto maintenance and repair. Some knowledge of C++ and BASIC and building PCs from scratch. Some experience with micro-controllers.   A course in Computer Aided Design & Manufacturing: CAD/CAM final project.   Some experience running lab experiments on materials, analyzing and writing up results.   Some experience and ability at public speaking.
