IT Project Leader for Faculty Applications

University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine

Led development team managing online tools for the appointment, reappointment, and promotion of 1700 full time faculty. Expanded suite of applications from 2 to over 20. Gathered requirements, developed prototypes, wrote specifications, managed rollout, and garnered client and user buy-in at all levels. Conducted presentations and training to Deans, Vice-Deans, Department Chairs, and those who hold the real power: Administrative Assistants.As part of a larger development team for the School of Medicine, led efforts on developing and improving user experience and intuitive interfaces. Acted as a Usability Evangelist to team, School, and University.

Wrote pre-employment tests for a variety of technical disciplines, including Relational Database Management Systems, PHP4, SQL Server for Developers, SQL 92, and ASP. Served as technical advisor to product management staff to answer questions and explain complicated technologies.

As part of a "kitchen" cabinet for a potential Pennsylvania State Representative, helped develop online strategy, build online presence, and manage constituent communication. Worked elections, both primary and general to build awareness of issues and candidate.

Managed IT strategy and support for a multi-location market research and focus group company. Oversaw technology transformation from patchwork computer systems and network to integrated IT policy and systems. Handled IT client relationships and vendor contracts. Managed software licensing and desktop support. Managed development process to move Access 98 application to web-based infrastructure.

Co-Founder

JournalWebCite, LLC

Started web-based company serving academic libraries to service their bibliographic management needs. Online product allowed libraries to manage their collections and processes. Duties included sales, development, support, marketing, accounting, and finance.

1997 - 2000

Director of Assessment Technologies

Started as employee #12 and helped build company to 135 employees in 3.5 years. Helped expand offering from a handful of pre-employment tests to three product lines including interactive Software Skills, Clerical Skills,and Tech-Tests. Managed process to move from desktop application, to enterprise, to web-based tool. Helped transition from independent company through acquisition to large division of a national organization.Know It All was a startup that grew to a national leader in pre-employment assessments. It was acquired in early 2000 by TalentPoint, who changed its name to Kenexa in the late summer of 2000.
