Event Manager

Westfields Golf Club

Responsible for the management of all facets of the golf operation at a semi-private golf club with 65 members and over 40,000 rounds of golf played annually.

  • Create and implement a $3.5M budget, producing $1.2M in profit annually
  • Acquiring, contracting, and managing  over 150 corporate, charity, and member events in an 8 month period, with over $1M in revenue annually.
  • Increased tournament revenue at the club by 15% from 2006 to 2008.
  • Order, inventory, display, and sell merchandise for a 900 square foot golf shop, producing over $420K in annual sales.
  • Manage a staff of 25-30 in exceeding the standards set forth by both Marriott Hotels and Marriott Golf Management: thus earning a 4 1/2 star rating from Golf Digest, and a spot in the Zagat Survey Top 100 courses in America.
  • Create advertising campaigns and promotional material including television, radio, and print.

Lowes Island Golf and Country Club

Responsible for managing daily golf operations of an upscale, private owned, golf and country club with over 375 members and 40,000 rounds of golf annually. 

  • Trained and managed staff in providing superior customer service to all members and guests.
  • Implemented and managed the budget for all golf service staff and scheduled labor hours accordingly.

Responsible for creating, implementing, and managing golf programs for both the membership and the corporate event business of the club.

  • Coordinated and managed large scale corporate golf outings
  • Coordinated and managed the organizational structure, events, and leagues for both the Men's and Women's Golf Associations at the club.

Responsible for management of the golf shop operation at the club

  • Worked with the merchandise manager to create new promotions and advertisements for the golf shop, and created new markets and sources of revenue for the golf shop

Resonsible for management of daily business operations of the golf shop and golf course. 

  • Managed the merchandising operation of the golf shop: buying, controlling, displaying, and selling merchandise
  • Managed a service staff of 15-20 staff members in providing superior service to all members and guests
  • Coordinated and managed the men's and women's golf events and leagues for the club.

Responsible for creating, implementing, managing, and growing a new junior golf program for the club. 

  • Established a junior program for various age groups and skill levels:  3 holers, 6 holers, and 9 and 18 holers divisions.
  • Coordinated golf programs for juniors with programs from other departments, such as the junior swim club.
  • Increased participation of juniors at the club by 30%.

Associate Golf Professional

The Westin Innisbrook Resort

Responsible for managing the day to day operations of the "Island" golf course, one of four golf courses at a large resort destination with over 800 members.

  • Managed a staff of 15-20 employees on a daily basis, including golf shop staff, outside service staff, golf course superintendant, and beverage cart staff.
  • Coordinated and managed large corporate and member events.
  • Managed membership program for the resort, including golf and social events for members.
  • Assisted the Troon Golf Institute by managing the instructional golf clinic program for the resort, and by providing over 100 hours of golf instruction in both private and group settings.
