Quality Assurance Manager: Managed a staff of ten Quality Control Technicians who were responsible for measuring battery separator characteristics and giving feedback to the manufacturing floor. I was responsible for reporting product characteristics to customers and for working customer issues. Conducted Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Product Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Process (APQP), and Gage Repeatability and Reliability (R&R) Studies while maintaining calibration of online and test equipment. Quality Engineering Manager, 1995 to 1999.Managed a team of engineers responsible for Manufacturing Operations Quality on Enterprise Computing Group products.Achieved Printed Circuit Assembly (PCA’s) quality levels that were 10-20% better than goal while introducing new products. Reduced cut hand first aid injuries by 70% and participated in the record setting 93% EHS&S Audit. Had signature authority and forecasted budget for cost center.

Service Product Manager, 1992 to 1995. Responsible for planning and communicating the service strategy and recovery plans for field issues related to the AC Portables and the Contura, Contura 400, and Concerto families of Laptop computers.Represented SPM during BSI audit to ISO 9002 and prepared Service Product Managers (SPM) and management team for ISO 9002 certification. Interviewed and selected candidates for SPM openings as the group grew from four members to twenty.

Supplier Quality Engineer, 1991 to 1992.Ensured supplier compliance with quality requirements surrounding Application Specific Interconnect Chips (ASIC's) and backlight assemblies for the LTE Lite family of Laptop computers.Performed Repeatability and Reliability studies (R&R) with supplier outgoing and Compaq incoming inspection processes to ensure material compliance with specifications. Defined inspection process for both sites to guarantee agreement regarding materialcompliance.

Component Reliability Engineer,1990 to 1991.Implemented Statistical Product Monitoring (SPM) as a receiving inspection tool.Evaluated supplier's variables data to ensure capability and stability with respect to Compaq specifications.


Process Engineer

Micron Technology

New Package Qualification Engineer, March 1989 to December 1989. Evaluated modifications to lead configurations and die size when new products were introduced to manufacturing line. Worked with programming division to develop electronic traveler for VAX system to track optimum manufacturing procedures. Acted as section head over four Engineering Shift Supervisors, three Technical Area Coordinators, and one Material Engineer during supervisor's absence.

Process Engineer,1986 to1989.Wrote process specifications and Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) to process specifications.Responsible for process yields during production of chips through Final Plastic Assembly cleanroom.Used SPC to identify process issues and responded with containment actions, root cause analysis, and permanent corrective actions.Evaluated materials and equipment used in the automated wafer saw, die attach, wire bond, and die coat processes. Calculated automated machine capability and made recommendations for purchase of equipment.Used DOE to improve process yields from 75% to 99.97% or higher, in some cases.
