5 Day CSI / Survivor Dog Training

Northern Centre for Canine Behaviour

5 Day training camp with John Rogerson from Britain and Miya Guo from China.  Training included tracking,  back tracking recall, walking on a slack lead, stay and sit as well as explosives detection, retreive, and control over distances.  Having travelled to the course, I was requested to train with a beagle that, at the beginning of the course would not recognise its name, dragged on its lead when 'walking' and was begnining to exhibit behaviour problem.  By the end of the 5 days, the dog was a happy and eager participant in a training environment and was a pleasure to work with.  The dog was offered up for re-homing to other course participants resulting in 3 different people requesting the dog.

Dog Performance

Over the years my family has had 4 days.  The most recent, I have trained the family dog to do basic commands and tricks like: sit, stay, come, fetch, walk on a slack lead, roll over, beg, beg and turn.
