Senior executive responsible for leading all aspects of Marketing across the organization including market strategy, product development and management, pricing, market research, advertising, public relations, web marketing, market management, promotions, and campaigns. Also led M&A and Business Development team during last year of tenure. Reported to CEO as member of the senior management team. Major accomplishments were complete makeover of product and pricing, creation of new Marketing department, recruitment of top talent to difficult market in Iowa, and national re-positioning of brand through major marketing communications programs. Also led development of new company strategy prior to Paetec deal and launched multiple key strategic products such as VoIP, Managed Services, Unlimited Bundles, and DSL.

Vice President/AVP Broadband

Sprint/Nextel

Led DSL and Broadband strategy, product development and implementation for Sprint's Local Division as AVP, then promoted to VP position leading Consumer Broadband Product Marketing for national CLEC initiative called ION. Product line grew from $0 to $500M line of business. Executive leader for DSL from business case through market launch and growth phases.

Vice President Marketing

US WEST Long Distance

Led Marketing team for separate deregulated subisidiary of the RBOC US WEST prior to acquisition by Qwest. Team designed marketing strategy and products for entry into long distance market. Created all products and market entry strategies, developed and launched company's first prepaid card product, and redesigned and relaunched company's existing Call Card and in-state long distance products.

Acting COO/VP Marketing and Commercial Sales

TCI/AT&T Broadband/Comcast

Led Marketing and Commercial Sales teams for TCI's Telephony Division which drove the company's entry into Local Telephone services utilizing the cable infrastructure to homes and businesses. Primary executive assigned to Triple Play strategic venture with Sprint, Cox, Comcast, and TCG for bundling telephony, high speed internet, and digital video together. Led entry into 3 trial markets as National CLEC. Provided leadership to Commercial Sales team, establishing new business unit and strategy.

Director Data Product Management

Sprint

Led strategy, product development, and product managemenet for Sprint's Clearline private line product family and also Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) services. Developed Business Plan and authored over 14 new products and services during tenure which grew Clearline into a $500M/yr product line for Sprint and its' most successful data service in terms of revenue and margin. Company leader for product and line of business.

Led development of Clearline priviate line services. Promoted to Group Manager, then Director. Authored and launched over 14 new products for product line that led the service to be Sprint's top performing data product.

Sprint Wireless/United TeleSpectrum

Led Sales Operations functions for Sprint's wireless division at a national level. Worked with all sales regions to develop lead development and tracking programs, sales compensation plans, incentives, and payment of commissions. Functioned as interim regional manager during sales office vacancies. Started as top account manager for company averaging over 150% of sales quota.

I have always had a knack for hiring outstanding talent and building very strong teams. I view my role as developing my team as future leaders in the organization. Over the years, I have recruited, hired, and promoted many talented executives who have gone on to very successful senior executive positions. My teams have always been recognized as outstanding leaders, high integrity team players, and results oriented producers.

Communications

As a leader, I have to be an effective communicator. One of my strengths is proactively and consistently communicating effectively with peers, subordinates, superiors, and partners to make sure the business vision is clear and understood, and that frequent communications occur to manage the execution of the plan.

Strong Management Skills

I am a firm believer that you can have the best strategy and vision, but if you can't execute then you will fail. I pride myself in having strong day-to-day operational management skills that allow me to communicate, plan, review and act accordingly to ensure results are achieved.

Leadership and Vision

One of my main strengths is developing effective and sustainable business strategies that drive revenue and market share growth. My contributions to every company I have worked for and in starting The NextGen Marketing Group have been driven from having the ability to have a vision and execute effectively so results materialize and success is achieved.

Interest

Outside of my business life, I am a devoted father and husband with a very large focus on family. My wife and I enjoy most of our free time watching our teenage son grow up and follow the many sports activities he is involved in. He is a gifted athlete and excels at baseball, golf, football and basketball. He plays on many traveling teams and we enjoy his activities. In addition, we are actively involved in our church and community via various groups and organizations to give back and help others in need.

Objective

My primary objective is to find professional opportunities on either a full-time executive, outsourced/contracted executive, or part-time consulting structure where I can make a major contribution to a company's success. Ideally, I am looking for leadership opportunities where I can come in and apply my considerable skills, experience and knowledge to help a company achieve its' goals. Targeted positions are CEO, COO, CMO, CSO in small-to-mid sized firms or SVP/VP level in large/F-500 companies. Functional areas are Marketing, Product Management/Development, Communications, Business Development, Strategy, Sales, Sales Operations, and Customer Care.
