Research Ingenieur and Intellectual Property Manager bei Thyssenkrupp Elevator Innovation GmbH

Summary

Technical lead of research and development projects in academic and industrial environment, software architect for embedded and PC-based systems in the automotive and the  elevator industry. Intellectual property manager, Big research project manager.

My goal is the technical leading of interdisciplinary, complex and strategic R&D projects and motivating people for innovation.

Work History

2012Present

Research engineer and IP manager

Thyssenkrupp Elevator Innovation GmbH

Currently leading of a big research project, responsible for the concept design and the system architecture of virtual engineering and its establishment into Thyssenkrupp R&D process.

Modeling the architecture  of a new generation of safety controllers with high level of integrity according to the IEC 61508 standard.

Designing and implementing a virtual reality 3D experience platform in collaboration with a university, which allows collaboration during research, demonstration of complex issues and scientific visualisation of numerical simulation results.

The platform also allows immersing people into concepts and lets them experience innovation before going to development.

Eliminating the need of an expensive real size prototype was very beneficial for my  budget.

And these were decisive contributions  to the most famous innovation of the last decade in the elevator industry, Thyssenkrupp's "Multi" .

One of the key performance indicators of a research and innovation center is intellectual property (IP). As the IP Manager my task was to motivate the team, to establish supporting process, and managing the patents portfolio of the unit following the overall IP strategy of the organization.

Within two years I could successfully transform the team's passive IP behaviour into an active and productive one.

Automotive System engineer and Software architect

Innovative Software Services ISS GmbH

Coordinating the development of the electrical vehicle controller for a joint-venture between two automotive global players Daimler and Renault, putting the focus on innovative Human Machine Interface (HMI) features as a means of differentiation against competition.

During these different projects I was also in charge of ensuring that all software development processes are conform to SPICE, AUTOSAR and the safety standard ISO 26262.

Software developer and Research Engineer

University of Stuttgart, Supercomputing center

Working on the design of a virtual programing environment, a collaboration and programming platform for students and researchers.

Developing the architecture of the software frontend of this environment and implementing several software modules in java by using advanced programing concepts and technologies

During that time I authored various scientific publications about E-learning and mentored graduating students.
