Computer & Informatics

Proficient with most Microsoft Office programs & graphic design Expert user of the Blackboard Learning System WebCT (Web Course Tools) and the Moodle Platform (Modular Object Dynamic Learning Environment). These skills involve design of virtual contents, elearning platforms, multi-user virtual environments and virtual courses management applied to education technology. Competent User of several Bioinformatics techniques: High-throughput image analysis, DNA microarrays analysis, analysis of protein expression, WEB-based platforms (ExPASY tools, gen and protein databases, etc). These Skills were acquired: The usage of these techniques for research and communication is a must. While attending several training courses, proved experience and mastery comes from daily use of computer tools throughout multiyear academic and scientific career.

Technical/Scientific Skills

Expert knowledge of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Microbiology laboratory techniques. Among others: Gene expression analysis, regulation of gene transcription, recombinant proteins, protein purification, protein posttranslational modifications, proteomics, cell cultures and functional complementation.   20 year experience performing laboratory research has allowed mastering cutting-edge techniques.

Organisational skills

Skilled at defining project priorities, evaluating results and delegating tasks with major strengths in planning, problem solving and communication. Can easily break a large project down into smaller pieces, prioritize goals and work under short deadlines without sacrificing creativity. Exercise initiative, achievement and independent judgment. Able to create a workable schedule to meet deadlines efficiently. Recognised aptitude for coming out with imaginative solutions especially when facing low budgets and/or financial cutbacks in founding. These Skills were acquired: Professional experience includes scientific coordination & supervision of several graduate students, technical staff and research assistants. Additionally, leading the co-ordination of several university subjects and been directly involved in the adaptation of former academics to the European directives of the Bologna Process (European Higher Education Area). Theses tasks requires efficient organization and management skills, systematic planning of scientific experiments, decision making, developing strategies for conflict resolution, contacting and bringing together potential partners, active participation in departmental & academic boards, etc.
