In 2007, Aytac Nural and his friend of more than 30 years, Zafer Sevimcok, opened the Midtown location of AYZA Wine & Chocolate Bar at 11 West 31st Street in New York City. As co-owner and general manager of the restaurant, Aytac Nural has played a lead role in shaping Midtown AYZA as a premier New York destination catering to a clientele seeking a romantic dining experience.
While in the planning stages for AYZA, Aytac Nural helped contract renowned architect Richard Bloch to design a space with an intimate but unpretentious feel, featuring muted lighting and wood paneling. To ensure food and drink offerings suit the location’s theme, he oversees the development of a menu focused on fine wine and gourmet chocolate, but which also includes artisanal cheeses and charcuterie. As general manager, Aytac Nural handles the business’ marketing strategy, and he has attracted the restaurant’s target audience with concepts such as Sunday Couples’ Night Out, when Midtown AYZA embellishes its dining room with the adornment of flowers and candles.
Following the success of Midtown AYZA, Aytac Nural and his partner opened a second location in New York’s West Village in 2011. Under his direction, AYZA continues to thrive in a competitive New York City culinary sector and has received over 50,000 likes on Facebook.
