Summary

Augustus Shaw is an attorney practicing community and home-owner association law. Co-founder and Managing Partner of the Shaw & Lines, LLC law firm, he has been practicing in the field for nearly 10 years. Various professional organizations recognized him as an outstanding educator and lecturer, such as The Leadership Center, an organization dedicated to community education initiatives. In 2008, Augustus Shaw was admitted as a member of the Community Association Institutes's prestigious College of Community Association Lawyers (CCAL). In the last 20 years, CAI has admitted fewer than 150 attorneys nationwide, all of who practice HOA law. Members of CCAL are admitted only by demonstrating significant contributions to this area of law and exceptional standards of professionalism and ethics.  A significant factor for his admission is his decade of participation in The Leadership Center, where he currently sits on the board. The Leadership Center is an organization sponsored by cities and colleges, dedicated to providing innovative community educational opportunities. Shaw & Lines, LLC sponsors an ongoing series of continuing education lectures and seminars, the Community Association Law Lunch & Learn Lecture Series, and Augustus Shaw and his partner have been awarded the honorary title of Instructor of the Year. Augustus Shaw's firm was honored by The Leadership Center a second time, in 2010, when the firm was awarded the Leadership Centre's Brian L. Zemp Community Leadership Award. He is licensed to practice before the United States Tax Court, the State Supreme Courts of Arizona and Nebraska, and the US District Courts of Arizona and Nebraska as well.  Augustus Shaw has contributed many articles to the East Valley Tribune and Arizona Republic in the area of real estate and community association law. He is an active member of the Central Arizona and National Chapters of the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Mr. Shaw has been a member of the Arizona State Bar Committee on Minorities and Women in the Law, the Maricopa County Board of Adjustment, Maricopa County Community Development Advisory Commission, and Maricopa County Merit Commission. He also served as Vice Chair for the City of Tempe Redevelopment Review Commission and Secretary for the Maricopa County Bar Foundation.
