Holding a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and Religion from Wellesley College and a Juris Doctor focusing on International Human Rights Law from New York University School of Law, Asma Gull Hasan has established herself as a formidable lawyer. In addition, Asma Gull Hasan is a professional public speaker. Having spoken at engagements all over the world, Asma Gull Hasan is regularly engaged by the U.S. State Department to speak to foreign embassy guests. The State Department has also hosted Asma Gull Hasan on tours of Ethiopia, Japan and Europe and featured her in videoconferences in a multitude of countries. Asma Gull Hasan’s primary topic of speech is Muslims in America, a subject on which she has also become a best-selling author.As the daughter of Pakistani immigrant parents, Asma Gull Hasan authored the award-nominated “Why I am Muslim: An American Odyssey.” In her book, Asma Gull Hasan works to destroy the stereotypes associated with Islam and show the peace and love intrinsic in her religion. Asma Gull Hasan directly connects her identity as a Muslim and as an American, showing that one is not mutually exclusive of the other. Recently, Asma Gull Hasan published “Red, White, and Muslim: My Story of Belief,” and she is also the author of “American Muslims: The New Generation.”Asma Gull Hasan is a regular supporter of Project Match, a non-profit organization that places gifted students from inner-city schools at boarding schools around the country. Project Match endeavors to provide children with an environment and education that befits their academic abilities and personalities. As a member of the Colorado, California, and New York State Bars, Asma Gull Hasan is currently a Chief Legal Officer at HealthTrio, LLC.
