Still a teenager, singer-songwriter Ashley Sonlin has embarked on a promising career in the music industry. Ms. Sonlin recently graduated as a member of the National Honor Society from Central Bucks West High School in Pennsylvania, where she sang in the choir, volunteered with the school’s service club, and performed at benefits and nursing homes. Ashley Sonlin began writing songs at the age of seven. Accompanying herself on guitar, she has already played in New York City cabarets and at the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, performing in the same venue as such musical legends as Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Hank Williams. Ashley Sonlin studies voice in New York City with coach Robert Marks, whose students have performed in such Broadway productions as Wicked, The Book of Mormon, Spider-Man, and The Lion King. In 2010, Ashley Sonlin participated in the Five-Week Summer Performance Program at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she performed with the school’s popular Tower of Power Ensemble. At the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio, Ashley Sonlin opened for Micah Sloat of the horror film Paranormal Activity. She recently recorded five songs with Emmy Award-winning songwriter and producer Lisa Ratner, who has written for Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand, and many others.In fall 2011, Ashley Sonlin returns to Berklee College of Music as a full-time student. The well-respected school hosts students from 80 countries, including Japan, Colombia, and Italy, and boasts five performance venues, two student record labels, and five Internet radio channels.Ashley Sonlin’s live performances can be viewed on her YouTube channel, as well as Facebook.
