Reid Family

As a nanny for the Reid Family I watch their two children, two and four years old, for about twenty-four hours a week. During the time that I spend with them we go on walks to the park, explore nature, bake, do crafts, and go on field trips around town. I also work on preschool activities with the four year old such as, spelling her name, writing and identifying letters, counting, and rhyming.  Over the past year and a half I have formed an extremely strong bond with these two children and look forward to seeing them every other day.

Child Development/Psychology

California State University, Chico

I took my upper division course work at Chico State University, located in Chico, California. I took courses in Child Development and Psychology. The courses that I enjoyed most were; Infant development, Biology of Childhood, Practicum, Child and Family Practicum, Learning in the Young Child, Issues in Child Psychology, Administration to Child Care Programs,  and Issues in Child Development. I was able to do an internship in the infant room on campus for 120 hours for my Practicum class. This was a great experience for me and I learned a lot of valuable information that I will take with me in my future career. I also did an internship for 72 hours at a site off campus, Bidwell Presbyterian Church. Here I was the children's ministries intern and was able to plan events for children and their families and I gained knowledge in the area of administration and directing.

I love working with children and making a positive impact on their lives. When I am not spending time with children I enjoy snowboarding, arts and crafts, making tutus, watching Oregon Duck football, reading, and cooking.
