Natural Resource/Range Management
I am currently in my Senior year at SUU and have completed all of the NR/RANG courses that SUU has to offer. This puts me directly on track for a GS-454-11 job placement following my graduation. In taking these courses, I have had many opportunities to receive first hand knowledge and experience in range monitoring techniques, plant identification, and ways to preserve our natural resources.
I have also been invited to join the National Society of Collegiate Scholars as well as the National Society of Leadership and Success for the past three years based on my academic standing and leadership potential.
Worked as a team to build and maintain hiking and biking trails system.
Served as an intern trail crew member building mountain bike trails on the southern foothills in Cedar City.
Paraprofessional for Dr. Violett, Working with SUU has allowed me to increase and strengthen my knowledge in plant identification. I have compiled and organized hundreds of plant specimens which will be added to Southern Utah Universities Herbarium and used as a crucial study guide for members of the Society for Range Management who wish to take the SRM native plants exam. This job was also counted as a 200 hour project which I used to complete the Education Designed to Give Experience (EDGE) program at Southern Utah University. A link to my portfolio for this project is listed at the top of this page.
Overseen many office duties and I was in charge of handling purchasing and shipment of many items, from a stapler to truck loads of chemicals used to make rocket fuel for NASA.
Office Manager, While working with the City of LaVerkin I received first-hand experience in being a youth sports coordinator, office manager for the city front offices, LaVerkin City Parks and Recreation Department, and also LaVerkin City Police Department.
