Co-Founder, President and Project Manager

Amplified Communication

I co-founded Amplified Communication, a creative agency, to gain hands-on experience in project management and brand marketing with student entrepreneur clients of various industries including service, beauty, entertainment, fashion and technology.

As President, I've had the opportunity to hone my leadership and management skills by leading a team of 6 executives to produce events, campaigns and multimedia production for our clients. I've had the opportunity to train our agency members on social media and brand marketing, media relations, event planning, personal branding, business development and campaign management.

During our first year, we produced two large events. The first, #OHIOConnect Networking Mixer, that welcomed over 35 professional student entrepreneurs to connect, mingle and network among each other for brand exposure and create relationships for future business opportunities. We also cross-branded this event as the re-launch for our client, Lana Lip Care. We secured over 6 sponsorships who were student-owned startup businesses. We promoted this event through a social media campaign that generated buzz throughout campus and earned a media placement in our student-run campus publication, The Post.

Our second event was an entertainment concert during the spring semester, the Deans List Tour. The Deans List Tour is a traveling entertainment showcased that originated in New York City. We hosted the Deans List Tour with our Amplified Communication client musicians to showcase their talents to an audience of over 100 in the Ohio region. Staying consistent to our theme of students-helping-students, all of our partners and vendors for The Deans List Tour were businesses and brands of millennial entrepreneurs. We secured sponsorship from over 5 fashion brands, a non-profit media production company, and other entertainment and journalism organizations on and off campus. The production of the Deans List Tour resulted in brand exposure for our musicians through a campaign comprised of social media, multimedia content production and pre-concert events, all hosted by Amplified Communication.

Public Relations and Marketing Intern

Following my entrepreneurial inspiration, I individually sought out the opportunity to join an NYC startup company working as their public relations and marketing intern. During my internship, I pitched media relations strategy to +70 bloggers for coverage and review BringMeThat service and brand. My implementation of this strategy resulted in securing placement of 10 published blog reviews for BringMeThat brand and services, which increased the company's target audience reach by 70%.

I managed social media marketing and engagement efforts for BringMeThat Twitter and Facebook pages using Hootsuite and Wordpress. I increased BMT's overall social media engagement more than 90% in my first month of employment. I wrote, co-edited and published 3 creative hyperlocal blog posts on BringMeThat's blog. I also strategized business development and bi-weekly digital marketing tactics (eMarketing - Mailchimp) with BringMeThat executives and creatively directed digital marketing design of BringMeThat brand graphics.

Digital Media Entrepreneurship Intern

DreamIt Ventures

Through the Scripps Howard Foundation, I was awarded a media entrepreneurship fellowship at DreamIt Ventures for 10 weeks during the summer of 2014. Through this internship, I worked hands-on with 5 different startup companies based in New York City: Slidebean, Browsy, Fiestah, Tourlandish and Buynance. I had the opportunity to work on a variety projects, honing my skills in business development, journalism, public relations and marketing.

Some of my work included conducting research and analyzing industry and product data for startup technology companies. I created a publicity strategy for refinancing startup company, Buynance. I copyedited 3 AlleyWatch “Angel Profile” articles for DreamIt Ventures Managing Director, Andrew Ackerman. I assisted with branding and development of a marketing tool for Fiestah that generated a 30% customer engagement increase. I built fashion industry media lists with over 50 contacts for Browsy to assist in publicity and media placement of their business launch.

Because I love photography, I also managed Instagram photography and digital content & engagement for Twitter for the DreamIt Ventures brand during Company Demo Day.

I completed daily administrative office tasks to ensure productivity of the accelerator. A perk of interning at the accelerator was the opportunity to engage in weekly entrepreneurship and business development workshops. I used my event planning skills to plan office social events with other DreamIt interns to promote company culture.

Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival Marketing Intern

Brooklyn Bodega

I have been an intern at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival for the past two summers and each experience has been extremely rewarding and enriching to my interest in being involved in the music industry. During my first year, I interned as a Marketing Associate and due to the fact that I was the only intern, I took on heavy responsibilities that boosted my confidence and passion.

Pre-festival, I tracked, monitored and recorded +15 Festival sponsorship and partnership deliverables. I attended and promoted all company events on social media platforms Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Tumblr throughout the summer while distributing +100 Festival flyers and guerrilla marketing to target audiences (families and millennials) about Festival events. I created and managed the social media content calendar to digitally publish information about festival artists and partnership brands, company events and resourceful festival info - I wrote and published +50 interactive Tweets to engage +3,000 followers on the @BKHipHopFest account. I also researched and compiled media lists and pitched the festival to over 100 cultural entertainment and family press contacts.

During the performance day I managed +50 press relations during New York City’s biggest hip-hop cultural event (20,000+ attendees) and delivered +50 press credentials, conducted artist-press interviews and escorted media reps from XXL, Time Out New York, HipHopDX, VIBE and other major entertainment and music industry publications.

During the summer of 2014, spent time writing music industry related blog posts for the Brooklyn Bodega editorial website. Pre-festival, I managed +30 media reporters during press junket events for Wu Tang Clan artist, Raekwon and Pro Era artist, CJ Fly. I also had the opportunity to record raw audio for Brooklyn Bodega's interview with Raekwon. As expected, I promoted Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival events and final day concert with Jay Electronica, Jay-Z, J.Cole and more throughout NYC metro area throughout the summer. During the final performance day, I managed press and VIP entrance with +80 music and entertainment media reporters on the day-of Festival.
