Skills and Qualifications

  • Gene Editing- Use of CRISPR/Cas9 technology to design and generate a knockout mouse, DNA ligation, bacterial transformation and culture. 
  • Molecular Work- Proficient in most molecular biology techniques. These skills include western blots, PCR, qPCR, IHC, DNA and RNA extraction, electrophoresis and immunoprecipitation. 
  • Tissue Culture- Culturing of primary cells (mostly alveolar macrophages) and stable cell lines. Manipulation of cells ex vivo and in vitro; transfections.
  • Animal Work-  Proficient in multiple types of animal procedures and surgeries; survival and non-survival. These include IT, IP, IV, and harvesting of tissues and cells.
