About Ashkan Khabazian

Over the course of his career, clinical pharmacist Dr. Ashkan “Ash” Khabazian has demonstrated clinical expertise as well as a commitment to advancing practice. He received his doctor of pharmacy from the University of Michigan in 2004 and subsequently began a general practice residency at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California. Dr. Ashkan Khabazian went on to join the Scripps Mercy Hospital team as a clinical pharmacist with the internal medicine practice, also serving as a residency preceptor and attended daily medical rounds. He stands out as a recipient of the hospital's Preceptor of the Year award.

Dr. Ashkan Khabazian also served as an voluntary adjunct professor with the University of California, San Diego, as well as with the University of San Diego. A presenter of coursework covering such subjects as internal medicine and pharmacology for nurse practitioners, he ensured a thorough grounding in toxicology and drug interactions. Dr. Ashkan Khabazian has also given numerous presentations on topics ranging from the management of pain to pharmacological decision making for patients with head trauma.

Dr. Ashkan Khabazian currently serves as lead emergency room clinical pharmacist at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego. There, he supports the correct administration of medication and provides optimal pharmacotherapy for  severe trauma cases and end of life resuscitation.
