Young, industrious and experienced teaching assistant looking for an opportunity to give ain a school environment an effective and specific help to pupils at any levels (KS1 to A-Level) in Maths, French, Science, History and Geography. Good contact with children, teenagers, ans special needs.
For a short period of time I have been able to work in 4 different schools, 2 of them where I was cover teacher in Drama, Geography and Maths -Highgate Wood School and William Ellis School-, and then 2 others where I worked as a teaching assistant for special needs (autistics children mainly) -Swanley School (Whitechapel) and Royal Docks Community School
Working in this school for about 2 months as been a real opportunity to increase my skills and habilities to deal with SEN students. Surrounded by a warm and experienced team, I completed with success the different tasks offered to me. For instance one of my responsabilities was to look after a student with MLD and ASD. One of the difficulty was to build up my communication using some basic MAKATON symbols. I think that at the end of term I have been able to establish a link of trust between me and the student, making him complient with simple instructions and receptive to teaching such as cooking cake. So this experience is definitely enhancing my level of understanding and efficiency, it's leaving me better equipped for the next step.
