Allison Riley

I am a recent graduate of Western Governor's University with a Master in Business Administration degree. I have decided to capitalize on my extensive banking experience and change my career focus to the Corporate Learning and Development field specifically for the Banking Industry. I have 13 years' experience in Banking, particularly in the Commercial Banking area. I have worked with a large variety of businesses across many industries, and have learned to advise business owners on best practices for their financial decisions. Obtaining my MBA has helped me to honestly assess my strengths and weaknesses, and I've researched the Learning and Development field extensively. More and more companies are realizing the important role that the L & D department can play--but only if focused on lasting results. I am committed to be personally responsible for providing meaningful and lasting information to employees that will ultimately provide a real, measurable increase to a bank's bottom line.

My Strengths Finder 2.0 top 5 themes are: Adaptability, Ideation, Connectedness, Strategic, Intellection.(

I enjoy sewing, poetry, nature walks and collage art. I love to discuss philosophy and self-improvement techniques.

My favorite sport is playing Scrabble with my 5 brothers.

I used to have a part-time business selling pancakes at the Salt Lake Downtown Farmer's Market. I loved seeing my customers return week after week to enjoy our Stackers Pancakes!

Commercial Banking Specialist

Zions Bank

I supported two very busy Relationship Managers for the Women's Financial Group at Zions Bank. Together we served over 300 clients. I processed and boarded all commercial loans, structured and advised clients on their commercial bank accounts, and provided excellent customer service.

In a 12-month period I referred over $300,000 in business loan volume and $25,000 in personal deposit volume to the Women's Financial Group. I was the top-referring employee for 2009.

Sep 2004 - Apr 2007

Commercial Loan Specialist

First Community Bank (purchased by US Bank)

I supported several Commercial Loan Officers in the Salt Lake Area. We specialized in commercial construction loans, but also processed Commercial C & I loans and Operating Lines of Credit. During my tenure as a Commercial Loan Specialist, I was invited by corporate management to represent all of the Loan Assistants (from banks across 5 Western states) on a special team they set up to establish guidelines for a new electronic loan processing system. The new process was implemented and successful.

Jan 2000 - Jul 2004

Loan Documentation Supervisor

Community First Bank (purchased by Bank of the West)

I was promoted to Team Lead over compliance and the loan documentation team after only 3 months. I automated all loan request processes and led a team of 6 members to higher loan volumes and more satisfied loan officers throughout the greater Salt Lake area. In 2003 I was again promoted to a corporate position managing a team in the SBA Lending division. We serviced SBA loans and loan officers in 8 states from North Dakota to Arizona.

Sep 1995 - Jan 2000

Consumer Loan Specialist

United Savings Bank (purchased by Washington Mutual)

I was hired with no banking experience as a Consumer Loan Assistant. After one year, my loan officer and I worked together to double her prior year's loan volume. When United Savings Bank was purchased by Washington Mutual (which has subsequently been acquired by Chase Bank), I was promoted to Consumer Loan Officer for the downtown branch. After one year of production on my own, I secured the 3# position for consumer loan volume (out of 3,000 total consumer loan officers).
