Nominated to Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2005 and 2007 for his contributions, for nearly 20 years, Ariel has used his globally recognized expertise in information technologies, including security, privacy, healthcare, networks, technology architecture and integration, and disaster recovery. Mr. Silverstone contributed to the current worldwide standard in security, ISO 27001, and wrote and contributed to over twenty published books and many articles on information security.   • Formed roundtables with university-wide representation, building consensus on technology strategy, implementation, and change management.
  • In conjunction with internal academic and administrative departments, addressed security and privacy needs of students, faculty, and staff across central and distributed systems, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key technology achievements include: Implemented a consistently functional and secure network environment serving 55,000 people. Developed multi-year security programs for key priority areas including strategic policy, privacy, compliance, training, firewall, antivirus, intrusion detection, disaster recovery, and wireless.

Created the Information Security program designed to produce incremental revenue and protect internal systems. Assisted North-American business groups with integration of specific business needs with Information Security best practices. Reported to the CIO.
