I am seeking a position where my relationship-based, infant mental health perspective will be an asset. I am culturally competent, and have a strong background in both psychology and early childhood development. The last ten years of my life has been dedicated to strengthening families, and through self-reflective practice, I hope to continue to grow as a scientist- practitioner.

Prenatal to Three

Year-long internship as a mental health counsellor for San Mateo County's behavioural health division. Case-load included both children 0-5 requiring intervention and parents diagnosed with a mental illness.

Skills acquired/ achievements:

·Provided a relationship-based model of care through home visits, dyad and family counselling, play therapy, and individual office visits.

·Co-facilitated an 8-week long group for mentally ill mothers and their infants.

·Kept detailed charts both for record-keeping and billing purposes.

·Conducted intake assessments of both adults and children

·Participated in weekly multidisciplinary staff meetings and trainings.

·Reflective practice through journals and weekly reflective supervision meetings.

I speak intermediate level Spanish. Because I was fluent at one time, I am confident that I would be available to see clients in Spanish after a brief period of study.
