In 1984, counselor Gregg Jantz, Ph.D., founded The Center for Counseling and Health Resources, Inc., which offers treatment for numerous addictions and trauma, including posttraumatic stress disorder, gambling, eating disorders, and abuse. A state-certified chemical dependency counselor, Gregg Jantz has seen The Center grow to become known as A Place of Hope for individuals and their families.
Many people seeking hope come to Gregg Jantz for help. Eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia, and compulsive overeating comprise some of conditions treated at The Center for Counseling and Health Resources. To help even more people and reach a global audience, Gregg Jantz wrote Hope, Help, and Healing for Eating Disorders (2010), pouring all his 25 years as a health counselor into the pages of the book. He wrote the book to reach out to those who might not be able to attend programs in person at A Place of Hope but still need the benefits of whole-person care. The book gives them a place to start their journey of healing and has helped many reclaim their lives.
Depression is another major issue in today’s society, and at The Center for Counseling and Health Resources, Gregg Jantz offers an alternative to approaches based on the dichotomy of either medication or willpower. Dr. Jantz does not believe that everyone suffering from depression should be medicated, but that all individuals have their own path and unique needs. He and his staff at The Center for Counseling and Health Resources work to provide each patient with the opportunity for personalized recovery.
In addition to his work with chemical dependency, Gregg Jantz also holds certification in eating disorders and is a licensed mental health counselor. A member of the Academy of Eating Disorders, the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, he continually strives to make his programs at A Place of Hope the most effective, healthy treatment options available.
