Summary

A lifetime member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Anura Perera began his diverse career in engineering, business, and philanthropy as a student in his hometown of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Upon completion of his rigorous training, Anura Perera moved to Zambia to take a position as an engineer and sales professional with a Caterpillar distributor, where he maintained and sold various types of construction equipment.Following this period, Anura Perera sought to expand his interests into the areas of shipbuilding and the installation of communications networks. Through his George Phylnormel Foundation, Anura Perera has helped to fund and construct the Nairobi Buddhist Temple in Nairobi, Kenya. In addition, Anura Perera and the George Phylnormel Foundation have proven indispensable to spiritual healer and teacher Bhante Wimala in his efforts to rebuild homes for survivors of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.Today, Anura Perera splits his time between duties for the George Phylnormel Foundation and Singapore aerospace manufacturer Raycom Aerospace Pte Ltd. As Chairman of Raycom Aerospace, Anura Perera trains his attention on business development opportunities from Raycom Aerospace in the Middle East and other locations around the world. Recently, Anura Perera participated in the MOU deal between Raycom Aerospace and Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), which will ensure the development of an SME precision engineering infrastructure in the Al Ain aerospace cluster.
