Typical activities have included prospect evaluation, development planning, environmental impact assessment and project management. New technologies have related to heavy oil recovery, oil sands extraction, ethanol manufacture and magnetic resonance detection.

Premier Energy Corporation

Headed a publicly traded US company (OTCBB: PNRC) that was exploring for and producing oil and gas in the Volga-Urals region in Russia - while evaluating additional acreage, producing properties and new technologies for acquisition in the U.S.A. and Russian Federation.

1976 - 2000

President, Advisor, Team Leader, Sr. Research Associate

Exxon Mobil Corporation

Led teams responsible for business development, resource evaluation, project economics, facilities design and environmental impact, as well as technical research, technology transfer and implementation. Prominent assignments included:

  • President of PegaStar Neftegaz LLC, Mobil-Texaco-Rosneft JOC (1997-1999) -- the first operator to sign a Production Sharing Agreement in the post-Soviet Russia.
  • Advisor for Russia/FSU projects at Mobil New Exploration & Producing Ventures (1993-1996) -- leading to the award of the largest lease block offshore Sakhalin Island in Russia.
  • Manager of Arctic Technology Development at Mobil Research & Development Co (1984-1992) -- culminating in the first iceberg-impact resistant, Hibernia fixed platform for drilling and production offshore Newfoundland, Canada.

Excelled as individual contributor and lead team member at Exxon Production Research Co (1976-1983):

  • Spearheaded development and deployment of technologies for in-ice (offshore) and on-permafrost (onshore) exploration and production.
  • Advanced fixed platform designs and construction technologies.

This degree gave me knowledge and training in international management - including trade across national boundaries and management on a global basis - with direct knowledge of business in foreign environments.

Specifically, I contended the effects of Soviet Union collapse, prior to the event - and focused on up-and-coming economies and business opportunities in Brazil and Russia.

My studies included structural and foundation dynamics (earthquake and offshore engineering), reinforced and prestressed concrete structures, application of probability theory to structural dynamics, experimental studies of structures, geotechnical engineering and computer-aided engineering.

As a professional engineering discipline, Civil Engineering has prepared me to design, construct and maintain the physical and natural bio-environment works such as bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings. As my elected specialty, Structural Engineering has enabled me to analyse and design structures that support or resist loads.
