Anthony Duva completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Florida College of Law in Gainesville, Florida, in 1973, receiving commendations for his paper on the topic of family law. In 1997, Mr. Duva obtained his Master’s degree in Public Administration at the University of Central Florida, where his studies culminated in a senior paper on strategic management. After decades of success in law and education, Anthony Duva currently works with Georgia Health Sciences University as its Senior Director of Development for Gift Planning, raising funds for the university’s projects.Previously, Anthony Duva provided his expertise to the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) as Senior Director of Development and Associate Vice President for Planned Giving. In these capacities, Mr. Duva made presentations to potential gift donors; managed gift programs for MCG's five Schools and the Children’s Medical Center; enacted a $20 million scholarship proposal benefiting the School of Medicine; created a program to raise $10 million for the Cancer Research Center; and spearheaded a number of other fund-raising initiatives. Anthony Duva maintains friendly relations with department chairs and faculty throughout MCG which allow him to effectively plan funding for many of the College’s research projects.Anthony Duva has decades of experience in law and business, providing excellent service both as a general practice attorney and as a business consultant for a number of major companies. Early in his career, Mr. Duva worked as a volunteer baseball and basketball coach in Florida, earning the Coach of the Year distinction on four separate occasions. Still a strong advocate for education, he currently is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the American Council of Gift Annuities, the Georgia Planned Giving Council, and the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning.
