Interest

Family My family has been the major passion of my adult life. I left full time work at SCU when my youngest child (of three) was born and continued on at SCU in both part-time teaching and research. This left time for one of my other great interests - building, interior design and decorating. Property development

Built, bought and redeveloped/redesigned  residential properties part-time.

  • Designed and project managed the build of three residential homes, one "speccie" build and a duplex for long term rental income.
  • Project managed the removal, relocation and renovation of two timber homes.
  • Project managed the redesign/building and renovation of two beach front units.
  • Project managed several smaller interior design projects.
Recent training:
  • Diploma in Interior Design, Vancouver, Canada (2003) (partially complete)
  • Real Estate Institute of NSW, Certificate of Registration  (2004)
Travel Between 2001 and 2009 I have spent 2 and a half years traveling overseas with my family. Most of this has been to Canada where we spent 3 months in Whistler in 2001, a year in Vancouver in 2003 and another year in Vancouver in April 2008 to April 2009. Altogether we have visited a dozen different countries (including a one month back-packing tour of Italy in 2003)
