I have seven years of experience developing product information for retail companies and their sales associates. I have always created resources across multiple product categories, developing a full scope of information for a brand's comprehensive product offering. I research inspiration, design, craftsmanship, and processes to create product information that is information-rich, aesthetically appealing, and easy to use during the sales cycle.
When I explain this role to people, I say that I take the merchants' assortment spreadsheets of data (costs, margins, SKUs, etc,) and translate it into something simple for the in-store associates to drive their sales. I believe that information should always be complete, accurate, and as visually-appealing as possible - after all, if it's not eye-catching, chances are no one will want to read it! I also like to tell the designers and merchants that I work with that if they can sell their product to me, then I can get their product sold in stores.
I now create these resources as well as branding, marketing, and web tools independently as Pointed Letters Creative. I continue to write my fashion and lifestyle blog, Poetic & Chic, and I am also working on my own brand of jackets and accessories called Sourdough.
