Dr. Anna Chacko’s career in medicine is unsurpassed as far as the depth of her research, as well as the remarkable number of fields in which she excels. After receiving her medical degree from the Institute of Medical Sciences at Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India, Dr. Anna Chacko undertook years of comprehensive subspecialty training to further her medical knowledge. In addition to fulfilling residencies in Internal Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology, Dr. Anna Chacko completed two fellowships at the University of Rochester in New York: one in nuclear medicine from 1975 to 1977, and another in magnetic resonance from 1988 to 1989. Dr. Anna Chacko received certification from the American Board of Nuclear Medicine in 1977 and the American Board of Radiology in 1988. Board qualified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she is currently working toward completing her COCATS Levels 2 and 3 training in nuclear cardiology.Dr. Anna Chacko’s depth of expertise has qualified her to hold a wide range of teaching, consulting, and administrative positions at some of the most prestigious institutions in the United States. Dr. Anna Chacko’s distinguished teaching career has included appointments at the Dwight Look Texas A&M University’s College of Engineering, Boston University School of Medicine, and the University of Hawai’i at Manoa John A. Burns School of Medicine. Moreover, Dr. Anna Chacko’s subspecialty training has enabled her to serve the U.S. military in several different capacities. Dr. Anna Chacko received the prestigious Legion of Merit in 2000 and 2001. Dr. Anna Chacko was most recently Professor of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine before taking time off to embark on a fellowship in Orthopedic Magnetic Resonance.
