Formulated research questions and used print and electronic resources found in professional publications to write scientific articles. Recorded data in excel spreadsheets and created an annotated bibliography listing all relevant professional articles and resources.   Wrote project proposals and monthly progress reports to professors.  Worked with a small group to design a website, script and produce an animated feature on web accessibility. Acquired HTML coding skills to design websites and complete course assignments.  Wrote a grant for the usability lab located at Texas State University.  Researched grant databases used to locate government and private funding for nonprofit organizations.  

Presented local news and feature reports for public radio on local news programs. Wrote factually correct, concise and engaging news stories within tight deadlines. Gathered and verified factual information regarding stories through interviews, observation and research. Introduced fresh and new angles on previously-reported material to update and inform social media users. Networked with various industry leaders and experts to gather multiple perspectives on issues. Promoted targeted content through various social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.  In addition, utilized social media aggregators, such as TweetDeck, to analyze the effectiveness and reach of targeted content.

Volunteered writing and note taking services at the University of Texas at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center (UTMDACC) Annual Ethics and Compliance in Oncology Research (ECOR) Conferences.  Attended breakout sessions that included clinical and social discussions led by world-renowned leaders in the regulatory and oncology industry.  Featured speakers included representatives from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Human Research Protections, as well as, leading clinical investigators and ethicists.  Practiced skills used for listening, note taking, analyzing information, and public speaking.

Employed research skills to locate guidelines used in the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) to assist in the resolution of file delinquencies.  Reviewed tax returns to ensure that system reporting accurately reflected consumer financials. Calculated income for Self Employed, S-Corp, LLC, and rental income.  Resolved income variances by recalculating income based on factual data, consumer interviews, and regulatory guidelines.  Accurately documented the loan file.  Advised consumers on next steps and provided accurate lender contact information. Utilized knowledge gained in the mortgage banking industry to employ effective problem resolution strategies.

Utilized investor and government guidelines to arrive at underwriting decisions and set conditions on loans seeking approval.  Analyzed consumer credit reports, bank statements, and employment information to calculate debt to income ratios and arrive at sound underwriting decisions.  Submitted loans to investors using various loan operating systems.  Responded to both verbal and written requests for information or defenses to underwriting conditions.  Maintained a pipeline of 50 loans and moved loans to the attorneys to draw closing documents.

Participated in the company wide MLCS system integration project for all emerging markets offices in the United States.  Worked with computer programmers to ensure MLCS functioned at the branch user level. Performed system testing in an effort to determine if bugs existed and possible fixes.  Notified system programmers when difficulty was experienced with system processes at the branch user level.  Trained staff in the emerging markets home loan offices on system changes and enhancements.  Drafted training materials to ensure that information was distributed and staff was knowledgeable about system changes.  Participated in weekly conference calls that discussed system issues and possible workarounds.
