Centre Operations Manager

When promoted to Centre Operations manager my duties began to include:

  • Soley managing a team of four Service Coordinators as well as overseeing the Meeting and Conferencing Executive
  • Making sure the centre is adequately staffed at all times - this includes managing staff holidays as well as arranging casual staff members
  • Ensuring that all monthly invoices are entered correctly by the Administration Controller
  • Managing the building works carried out by contractors as well as the centre handyman

When first promoted at MWB my duties expanded to include:

  • Learning the full role from the Centre of Excellence Assistant Centre Manager
  • Helping to Manage a team of five service coordinators
  • Training all staff in various aspects of their individual roles including training new staff from the beginning
  • Adding ad-hoc charges to monthly invoices
  • Assuring visual standards were maintained at a high level in the centre's common areas
  • Making and keeping good relationships with suppliers and maintenance engineers

As a Service Coordinator at MWB my duties included the following:

  • Greeting clients
  • Patching IT and Telecoms connections
  • Inputting IP addresses to ensure clients' internet was properly working
  • Answering telephones and transferring calls accordingly

  • Sorting incoming and outgoing post

  • Writing emails and memos to be sent to clients

  • Editing spelling and grammar of emails written by colleagues and managers

  • Organizing meeting room schedule

  • Ordering food for the week's meetings

  • Contacting meeting room clients to check bookings

  • Only Service Co-Ordinator in cluster to be trained trained to enter meeting room bookings into a new system

  • Requested to help at our Head Office on two occasions - once to do telemarketing and a second time to help our Central Reservations Office when it was needed.

Reading fiction is my passion but I am always on the lookout for grammatical errors - whether in the novels I love, the newspapers on the Tube, or the advertisements around the city.  I also enjoy travelling because I find experiencing different cultures fascinating.
