Volunteered to lead the definition & creation of the industry’s first enterprise app store for software defined networking (SDN) applications. Defined feature set to address enterprise requirements, aligned with HP Networking’s channel focused go to market (GTM), supporting both HP & ISV apps. Defined tier structure to balance trusted tested apps, with the need to attract individual developers & start-ups.

Researched potential platforms, then selected an in-house platform as a starting point. Gathered requirements from ISVs, marketing, services, channel & sales teams, then created market requirements document (MRD) and initiated development.

Project managed the construction & launch, leading a team of 30+ to address store development, commerce, licensing, channel, marketing, services, lead capture, sales compensation, & ISV solution validation.

Hired & managed a team of business and technical alliance managers to identify, prioritize, secure, then on-board ISV under a specialized track within HP’s AllianceOne program. Defined and implemented the foundations of a developer program, and secured a team from HP services to provide developer technical support through an online forum.

WW OEM Business Development Manager


Developed and implemented the strategy to grow HP Networking’s WW sales to OEM customers from 49M in 2012 to 83M in 2014, through focus on attach to existing server sales, whilst also developing independent networking opportunities.

Designed & implemented programs to increase OEM customer satisfaction & Net Promoter Score addressing issues specific to OEM customers (WW SKUs, regulatory queries, EoL notification, NEBS).

Developed OEM focused sales training & product collateral to highlight key products appropriate for OEM sales, customization options, and vertically focused sales initiatives.

Justified the creation of a new role for a program manager to assist through management of EoL and regulatory queries along with product introduction & customization projects.

WW Alliance Strategy & Social Media

Hewlett-Packard - HP Networking

Created the HP Networking alliance program, then drove the strategy and execution to on-board a group of software and appliance vendors that helped to address gaps in the portfolio.

Subsequently worked with the Enterprise business alliance team to extend the program across server, storage and services, merging a number of pre-existing programs into AllianceONE.

Created & launched of a new online community, blog and social media strategy to increase the engagement and value derived from the the 6,000 smaller partners. Initiated an alliance section on the HP Networking blog quadrupling blog page-views. Mentored bloggers from other groups, and engaged independent networking bloggers, initiating a HP blogger-technology-day to give them access to senior leaders in the business.

Planned & executed social media activities promoting HP Networking’s point of view at VoiceCon & Interop 2010, driving 7,000 blog views, and raising share of voice at the event above that of Cisco.

Advised Enterprise social media center of excellence and HP consumer support teams on community best practices, blogging, social media video production, and content strategy. Invited to present at a social networking conference.

As the team evolved, I recruited, trained then mentored a sequence of new hires to operate then take over the management of the HP networking alliance program.

WW System Integrator Business Manager


Identified the lead global and regional System Integrators that had both ability & interest to drive business for HP Networking, then focused on what we needed to grow business with Dimension Data & AtoS WW.

Defined & agreed new HP business model allowing multinational resellers to do business with HP as a new tier of global partner, without adversely affecting HP’s existing country based reseller model. Defined & agreed new model for key HP SIs and services-led re-sellers to deliver services in collaboration with HP services, avoiding concerns of channel competition with HP services.

Successfully negotiated Global Master Partner Agreement and country addenda to allow Dimension Data to operate a multinational SI / Reseller relationship with HP. Worked with the AtoS HP account team to position HP Networking in the context of the overall AtoS business.

Responsible for developing ProCurve's enterprise sales, through sales of solutions via value-added resellers and a high-level direct-touch consultative sales motion.

Introduced products and solutions from ProCurve's new network security portfolio, then a major refresh of the network infrastructure solution with a new core switch. Added responsibilty for the WLAN portfolio, and for driving demand for networking products through applications such as VoIP and UC, across EMEA. Led the creation and execution of the go-to-market strategy encompassing direct and channel marketing, AR/PR, channel partners, and ProCurve’s direct-touch sales force.
