Andrew D. Beer has over twenty years of experience in the finance business. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Beachhead Capital Management, LLC, a hedge fund advisory firm. Over the past fifteen years, Mr. Beer has been a founding partner of several asset management firms in areas ranging from complex derivatives trading to fundamental commodity investing to cross-border trading in Asia to quantitative methods of tracking actual portfolios.

He began his career in mergers & acquisitions at the James D. Wolfensohn Company, a boutique firm founded by the forthcoming President of the World Bank. Mr. Beer worked in leveraged buyouts at the Thomas H. Lee Company in Boston during his tenure at Harvard Business School. Upon graduating, he joined the Baupost Group, a leading hedge fund firm, as one of six investment professionals.

Mr. Beer is an active member of the Board of Directors of the US Fund for UNICEF, where he serves as Chairman of the Bridge Fund, an innovative financing vehicle designed to accelerate the worldwide delivery of life-saving goods to children in need. With his wife, Mr. Beer is a co-founder of the Pierrepont School, a co-educational K-12 independent school located in Westport, CT.

Mr. Beer received his Master in Business Administration degree as a Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School, and his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard College. Mr. Beer lives with his wife and two daughters in Fairfield, CT.

Sasco Holdings, LLC is a family-owned investment firm that has been the seed investor and/or strategic investor in several leading hedge fund firms. Sasco was the principal strategic investor in Pinnacle Asset Management, LLC, the leading independent commodity-focused fund of hedge funds firm, which has been the recipient of numerous industry awards. Sasco also was the seed investor Apex Capital Management, LLC, one of the first institutional-quality Greater China focused hedge funds. Sasco later acquired a majority interest in Stonebrook Capital Management, LLC, the predecessor company to Belenos Capital.

Belenos Capital Management, LLC is a pioneer in developing liquid solutions for hedge fund investors in order to enhance portfolio efficiency, lower all-in fees and improve risk management. Belenos (through its predecessor company) launched the first hedge fund product that successfully tracked the performance of the broad hedge fund industry, but with superior liquidity, transparency, no counterparty risks, and other features. Belenos also created some of the first customized products to track the performance of actual portfolios of hedge funds, rather than indices, and developed methodologies to help investors to recapture a portion of management and incentive fees.

Apex was one of the first institutional-quality equity long-short hedge funds focused on the Greater China region. Apex offered several hedge fund products, including a market neutral strategy, directional product, and North Asia strategy. Apex managed over $1.3 billion at its peak; however, despite very limited losses in 2008, Apex suffered substantial investor withdrawals during 2009. The portfolio managers separated the business in late 2010.
