Design Engineer- My job role here is to take survey details and turn them into detailed designs using AutoCAD 2015 and Advance Steel 3D program. Once the designs are approved by the customer and are proved to be viable, they are then turned into manufacturing drawings. I also provide the customer with detailed 3D walkthrough visualisations. Produce detailed custom designs-from customer approval through to manufacture Produce bills of materials(BOM) Customer visualisations and colour renders 3D walkthroughs Producing supporting technical documents for the standard and non-standard/bespoke product ranges. Design of bespoke parts and components for internal/external processes. Control of supporting documentation through Microsoft Office, Lakeview and Teamwork software.

TECHNICAL MANAGER- Starting Position: Design Supervisor Leaving position: Technical Manager Main duties were to provide technical support on a variety of marine based interior products. As the product specialist within the business it was my responsibility to assess the viability of projects and to action any works required. This included:- Managing configuration data to define the standard product ranges. Managing the non-standard variants requested Attend site visits, training and site surveys as required, both UK and overseas. Represent the company at corporate events both UK and overseas. Manage and uphold the CAD standards as defined. Produce AutoCAD block data including dynamic blocks and attributes. Produce AutoCAD block assemblies using dynamic blocks definitions where appropriate Train staff in all departments as appropriate I was asked to rejoin the company to manage and implement design standards that were not previously defined. This offered many challenges including retraining existing staff both within the design and sales support teams. During my time at OceanAir I am pleased to report that sales of the product increased, reliability and consistency in the product increased dramatically and the warranty liability dropped to its lowest level in the companies' history.

Starting Position: Applications Designer Leaving position: Applications Designer Main duties were to provide technical support and CAD designs for the sales and after sales team, using AutoCAD MEP, on a variety of ventilation and heating projects. This included:- Production of 2D/3D technical layouts for Ventilation/Heat recovery systems. Production of airflow and duct sizing calculations to support designs. Production of Bills of materials to support designs. Continuous development of drawing database including symbol libraries. Upholding and improving drawing standards and systems. DESIGN DRAUGHTSMAN- Starting Position: Design Draughtsman Leaving position: CAD Systems Manager Main duties were to provide CAD support to the technical and sales departments using AutoCAD and Solidworks on a variety of marine based interior products. Producing CAD drawings, bills of materials and cutting lists for manufacture. Production of customer presentation visuals and appropriate supporting technical documentation. Design and development of new products and modification of existing processes. I designed and developed several new concepts in blind design. The company applied for patent on one of the products, which is currently supplied to one of its most prestigious customers.

FREELANCE DESIGN DRAUGHTSMAN- Starting and leaving Position: Self Employed freelance design draughtsman Duties included working on a variety of projects including building services, space planning, product design and general manufacturing based draughting for both short and long term projects. Clients varied from large multi-nationals to small manufacturing and precision engineering companies. Projects were undertaken using both AutoCad 2D and 3D, Microstation and some solid works design. I was also responsible for producing project documentation, bills of materials, managing contract documents and liaison with customers and sub-contractors. I also provided system support and training to other staff members.

Carried out site surveys, sourced materials and components, produced parts lists for ordering, provided electrical and mechanical calculations as well as overseeing the manufacture of products.

SENIOR DRAUGHTSMAN/IT- Starting Position: Draughtsman/IT Leaving Position: Senior Draughtsman/IT Duties included producing Electrical Design drawings as well as IT and CAD support for in house staff. This included the set-up of CAD computer systems within the building, as well as producing lighting schemes using manufacturers calculating software to support the engineering department. I also produced health and safety documentation and risk assessments, as well as compiling operating and maintenance manuals.
