Andy directed all brand, marketing, sales efforts as well as product management and product development and sourcing. We conceived and guided sales activities for the organization, executed policies and programs to achieve maximum sales volume potential and profitability. Developed brand marketing and product sourcing strategies as changing market conditions warrant and recommends policy and tactical change.

Selected Accomplishments:

Re-positioned the brand adopting a “Health and Heritage” position, building on vast historical legacy while creating a highly relevant and modern facade.

• Launched the company's first e-commerce website, employing new brand position themes, driving high margin direct-to-consumer sales using SEO/SEM/PPC and direct marketing programs.

• Completely revamped and modernized the footwear product line to create trend relevant and brand appropriate collections. Sales of new product increased 35% over 3 years under new design philosophy, updated lasts & outsoles, new packaging, and POP, and introduced a new USA-made “brand statement" Heritage collection. 

• Planned, modeled and executed restructuring of sales force employing a channel-driven sales strategy vs. geographic organization, hiring 6 additional outside and 3 inside sales reps, driving retail focused efforts.

• Conceived and executed the transition of Asian sourcing from employee based (fixed cost) to agent-driven (variable cost) model while seeking out, qualifying and employing new China factories whose manufacturing expertise better matched PWM needs.

Successfully built category-busting product, marketing and distribution program go-to-market launch that exploit a $1m consumer research and product development program. Andy directed $4m mar/com budget, $500k industrial design budget and management of direct reports.

Andy directed cross-functional team that included product management, industrial design, project engineering, finance, purchasing, manufacturing, sourcing, marketing and communications and sales.

Collaborated with angel and private equity investors to finance operations and maintain patents for this turnaround effort. Re-launched the brand as after-sport winter footwear, defining and capturing market and developed an  innovative materials technology story.

The International Skiing History Association (ISHA) is a not-for-profit corporation, whose mission is to preserve and advance the knowledge of ski history and to increase public awareness of the sport’s heritage.  ISHA publishes a magazine enthusiastically read six times a year by lovers of skiing, researchers, hall-of-fame members and skiers around the world. It makes ski history accessible to thousands of enthusiasts on the Internet. Pedorthic Footwear Association - Board of Directors  2011-2014

The Pedorthic Footcare Association (PFA), founded in 1958, is the not-for-profit professional association which represents the interests of the certified and/or licensed pedorthist and supports the pedorthic profession at large. Through PFA's efforts, pedorthics – the design, manufacture, modification and fit of shoes and foot orthoses to alleviate problems caused by disease, congenital condition, overuse or injury – is a well-established allied health profession which makes an invaluable contribution to public health.  

Taproot Foundation - Volunteer Account Manager

Taproot Foundation's mission is to "lead, mobilize and engage professionals in pro bono service that drives social change." It's work focuses around building a pro bono marketplace that, like philanthropy, is large, transparent, professional and accessible. The organization was founded in 2001 by Aaron Hurst and opened the grant service program.
